FC Tucson returns to Kino North Stadium this Saturday to take on the Chattanooga Red Wolves in the first of three matches this season. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and fans can purchase $1 hot dogs (limit four per person, per visit) and $5 margaritas. The Red Wolves currently sit at fifth place in the league standings with eight points.
Last week, FC Tucson fell on the road to the Richmond Kickers, 2-0. Defensively, the club looked impenetrable for most of the match but the Kickers eventually found the back of the net in the 83rd minute for the game-winner.
The last time FC Tucson played at Kino North Stadium, the club shutout Lansing Ignite, 2-0, on April 30th. This marked the first home win in the professional era for FC Tucson.
Chattanooga most recently played to a 2-2 draw against Forward Madison FC on May 11th. Prior to that, the Red Wolves fell to Tormenta FC 2 3-0 in the first round of the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 7th.
Making his mark
After being sidelined with a lower-body injury, defender Jose Terron has wasted no time in making his presence on the pitch known. He has registered 14 tackles, one assist and two created chances in just three matches.
Best defender of the bunch
In the past two matches, the club has registered 46 clearances and a 53% tackle success rate. Defender Kyle Venter leads the defensive charge with 14 clearances and five blocks.
Keep the awards coming
On loan from LAFC, goalkeeper Phillip Ejimadu was awarded the USL League One Save of the Month for April. He is currently third in the league in total saves with 20.
