FC Tucson Begins Road Trip In Orlando

FC Tucson will travel to Orlando, FL to take on Orlando City B on Wednesday at Montverde Academy. This will mark the third and final meeting between the two clubs this season. The all-time record currently stands at 1-0-1 in favor of FC Tucson. 

Last Saturday, Tucson played to a 0-0 draw at home versus the Richmond Kickers. LAFC loanee goalkeeper Phillip Ejimadu earned his third clean sheet of the season, elevating him to fourth in the club’s all-time record books.  Former FC Tucson goalkeeper Billy Thompson is in first place with six career clean sheets. 

Tucson will head into Orlando after finding much success at home. In its last four home matches, Tucson has boasted a record of two wins, two draws, and zero losses. 

Orlando City B is coming off of a 2-1 win over Forward Madison FC. Despite a slow start to begin the season, OCB has won four out of its last five matches, outscoring their opponents 9-4.

  • This will be the 3rd all-time meeting between the two clubs with TUC’s all-time record being 1-0-1.
  • The largest margin of victory in the series is two goals which happened on March 30th2019, FC Tucson defeated Orlando City B 3-1.

FC Tucson kicked off their inaugural USL League One season in Orlando on March 30th. Forward Guillermo Delgado recorded two goals and one assist en route to the 3-1 rout at Montverde Academy. 

A Man Amongst Boys

LAFC loanee goalkeeper Phillip Ejimadu registered his third clean sheet of the season last week against the Richmond Kickers. Ejimadu now sits third overall in saves (29) and tied for fifth in clean sheets (3). 

Finding That Groove

In their last four home matches, Tucson has netted eight goals and conceded just two, going undefeated during this span.

Iron Man Watch

While Phillip Ejimadu is the only player to play every possible minute (900 minutes), midfielder Jamael Cox has played in every match this season (10) and currently leads the club in created chances (10), assists (2), and tied for third in goals (1).
