Eric Kinzner will provide as added depth to FC Tucson’s defense as the Seattle-native heads to the Old Pueblo on loan for the remainder of the season.
FC Tucson announced Thursday the signing of the defender from MLS NEXT Pro’s Tacoma Defiance.
The Seattle-based side is the second division team branched under MLS side Seattle Sounders FC.
The 19-year-old first signed with Sounders FC Academy on July 13, 2020, from Federal Way Football Club. Kinzner was on the Sounders Academy U-17 squad that won the 2019 Generation Adidas Cup, beating Valencia CF in the final.
Kinzner has made 26 starts of 28 appearances with Tacoma Defiance since joining, including seven appearances and scored two goals in MLS NEXT Pro this season. He scored his first goal for Tacoma on April 17 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He headed in the ball from a free kick outside the box to bring tie the game 1-1.
