EL PASO, Texas – Jose Bracamonte scored late in the second half Monday evening as FC Tucson rallied to post its first USL Pro Academy win of the season, 2-1, over El Paso Locomotive at Westside Sports Complex.
El Paso took the lead midway through the first half.
FC Tucson equalized in the 63rd minute with a goal from Ruben Bonilla — his second in as many games — off an assist from Jerod Allen. On the press, Allen forced a turnover and played it to Bonilla, who put the goal away from eight yards out.
Bracamonte delivered the game-winner in the 87th minute on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper after being played a through ball from Ivan Felix.
Fernando Hernandez had a strong game in the midfield with his high level of fitness and concentration, dictating the attack for the better part of the game. Midfielder Brandon Sanchez was also impactful on the offense but was more disruptive on the defensive end and kept El Paso from mounting additional threats.
Emiliano Andreaux also had several key saves in goal to secure the win.
FC Tucson (1-3-2) will host Orange County SC on Sunday, July 24, at Kino North Stadium at 10 a.m. The match, FC Tucson’s final home game of the season, is free and open to the public.
