A six-point week – extending FC Tucson’s unbeaten streak to five through September – landed the club four on the USL League One Team of the Week.
Goalkeeper Carlos Merancio was joined by defender Kaelon Fox, midfielders Daniel Bedoya and Louis Perez.
FC Tucson knocked off North Carolina FC, 1-0, on Tuesday, before finishing off Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, 2-1, on Saturday.
Merancio reeled in a week-high seven saves. Fox tallied a match winner against Chattanooga to go along with 11 duels won and six recoveries.
Bedoya scored his third goal of the season in Tucson’s win over visiting Chattanooga. The Colombian midfielder earned 12 recoveries and won 100% of his tackles.
Perez won and converted a match-winning penalty to keep Tucson’s playoff hopes alive against NCFC. In two Week 25 victories, Perez accumulated 14 recoveries and won seven fouls.
