FC Tucson added two second-half goals to a four-goal first-half barrage on fireworks night to easily defeat Arizona Arsenal 6-2 on Monday night at Kino North Stadium.
Jose Contell netted three goals, Gyorgy Kamaras scored in his third straight match and Adrian Camacho and Vilius Labutis had one apiece as FC Tucson picked up its third straight win to keep its playoff hopes alive.
Contell started the scoring with a header in the 11th minute. He also had goals in the 60th and 83rd minutes.
A goal by Arsenal in the 56th minute ended a string of scoreless minutes by FC Tucson goalkeepers at 235 minutes.
FC Tucson, which is undefeated in its last seven matches, will host Redlands FC on July 8 in a battle of two teams fighting for second place and a playoff berth. Kickoff at Kino North Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
