FC Tucson finished its season with another dominating effort in a 5-1 victory over Arizona Arsenal at Kino North Stadium on Saturday night.
With the win in the regular-season finale, FC Tucson finished with five straight victories and completed the first undefeated home season in club history. In their last five games, the Men in Black outscored their opponents 20-3.
Carlos Armendariz put FC Tucson ahead early, a trademark in the last five games of the season for the Men in Black, when he headed in a corner from Adrian Camacho in the 15th minute.
He doubled his game total and the FC Tucson lead with a scissor kick shot from deep in the box on a cross by Vilius Labutis in the 31st minute.
FC Tucson started quickly in the second half as well, when Duvan Canchila’s strike hit the crossbar and rebounded off the ground inside the goal in the 51st minute.
Substitute Brandan Clark made it 4-0 on a cross from Tommy Silva in the 64th before Arizona Arsenal scored its only goal of the night.
Martin St-Louis completed the Arizona scoring with a goal in the 91st minute.
