TUCSON (May 18, 2019) — The FC Tucson attack ran on all cylinders en route to 4-0 route of the Chattanooga Red Wolves at Kino North Stadium. Devyn Jambga led the way with a second-half brace and while Jordan Jones and Kody Wakasa scored goals of their own. The four-goal win is also the largest margin of victory for FC Tucson this season.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • LAFC loanee goalkeeper Phillip Ejimadu registered the second clean sheet in the club's professional history.
  • Forward Devyn Jambga registered the club’s second brace of the season. He now leads the club in goals scored (3).
  • This is the second consecutive win at Kino North Stadium, improving the home record to 2-1-1.

It only took FC Tucson 25 minutes to break the scoreless deadlock. After Chattanooga was called for a penalty in the box, newly-acquired forward Jordan Jones stepped to the spot and buried his opportunity to make it 1-0.

Ten minutes later, Jones nearly secured a brace off of a corner kick that careened off of the near post. But defender Kody Wakasa pounced on the rebound and found the back of the net to double FC Tucson’s lead heading into the half.

Devyn Jambga stole the show in the second half. In the 67th minute, Jones blew past the Red Wolves defenders to get the ball on the opponent’s side of the pitch. He connected with Jambga, who scored off of a beautiful right-footed strike to push the lead to 3-0.

Jambga got the crowd up on its feet again in the 75th minute. This time he took a cross from Zach Wright and redirected it into the goal to make it 4-0.

Despite receiving limited action tonight, LAFC loanee goalkeeper Phillip Ejimadu registered his second clean sheet this season. Both have happened at Kino North Stadium.
