Midfielder Karsten Hanlin Latest To Sign With FC Tucson

Midfielder has 32 USL Championship appearances in two seasons.

TUCSON, Ariz. (January 29, 2019) — FC Tucson announced today it had signed midfielder Karsten Hanlin for the 2019 USL League One season. Per club policy, the details of the contract will not be released. 

"I'm very excited to be with FC Tucson in their first professional season. I've heard great things about the city and the club, from facilities to the fans. Darren and the staff are building something special, and I can't wait to get started."

Hanlin, a University of Denver standout, most recently played for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of USL Championship. In 16 appearances, he recorded 3 assists.

He started in 71 matches throughout his four-year career at the University of Denver. He recorded 14 goals, 15 assists and seven game-winning goals in 5,540 minutes of play. Hanlin graduated from the University of Denver in 2016. 

Hanlin went on to sign with MLS club Real Salt Lake making 16 appearances for their USL Championship side Real Monarchs SLC. Hanlin recorded two goals and assist with Monarchs SLC.

He joins midfielder Moshe Perez as FC Tucson’s second signee from the University of Denver. 

With the addition of Hanlin, FC Tucson’s roster now stands at three players for the 2019 USL League One season.
