
TUCSON (August 17, 2019) — FC Tucson wrapped up its six-match road trip with a 1-1 draw against South Georgia Tormenta FC at Erk Russell Park.
WHAT TO KNOW
● Forward Jordan Jones scored his fifth goal of the season, matching the team leader in goals (Devyn Jambga).
● FCT registered a 75% percent tackle rate.
Both teams struggled to establish an attacking presence as the two sides combined for just three shots on target, including two penalty kicks.
In the 78th minute, forward Jordan Jones netted his fifth goal of the season from the penalty spot to make it 1-0, following a hard foul inside the box. Jones has converted on all three of his chances from the penalty spot this season.
During stoppage time, Tormenta received an opportunity for the equalizer following a Tucson foul in the box.
Tormenta FC midfielder Marco Micaletto converted on the penalty kick to give the host side an equalizer in the closing minutes of the match.
