
FC Tucson announced Thursday the signing of midfielder Mohamed (Mo) Kone.
Kone, a center defensive midfielder, joins the club after playing 887 minutes over 10 games for New Amsterdam Football Club in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) in 2021.

The 27-year-old is an Côte d'Ivoire-born Burkinabé player started his club career in 2014 in Moldova, and has also played in Cyprus and Belarus.
He spent the 2019 season with Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USL Championship where he made 13 appearances, including seven starts.
Kone will get his first opportunity to play for FC Tucson when it hosts North Texas SC on Saturday (7 p.m., Kino North, ESPN+) in Teacher Appreciation Night.
