After a stellar comeback win against first-place Chattanooga Red Wolves, FC Tucson got more good news on Monday.
FC Tucson midfielder Louis Perez was named USL League One Player of the Week for Week Four.
He was joined by teammates Jacob Crull (defender) and Luca Mastrantonio (defender) on the Team of the Week.
Perez helped spark the victory with a goal and an assist. He sent a corner kick into the box that Mastrantonio converted with a header level the game at 1-1 in the 55th minute.
Chattanooga retook the lead in the 62nd minute, but Perez responded less than 10 minutes later by beating off two defenders and slotting home his shot from outside the penalty area.
Crull maintained a 93% passing accuracy and 85% passing accuracy in the opponent’s half, recorded 10 clearances and two interceptions to earn his second consecutive Team of the Week honors.
Along with scoring the first goal, Mastrantonio also recorded four clearances, three interceptions, three recoveries and two blocked shots.
The club returns home to host South Georgia Tormenta FC on Saturday at Kino North Stadium. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. (BUY TICKETS)
