
TUCSON (February,20 2019) — FC Tucson announced today it had signed goalkeeper Carlos Merancio Valdéz for the 2019 USL League One season pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, the details of the contract will not be released
“I am very excited for the opportunity to play for FC Tucson. This is a great opportunity and stepping stone in my professional career. I’m very grateful to Darren and the FC Tucson staff for giving me an opportunity to prove myself at this level. They’ve been very good to me as I take this step to try and help bring a championship to Tucson.”
Merancio most recently played for Monarcas Morelia of Liga MX, the top professional league in Mexico. Prior to his arrival in Liga MX, he spent four years with the Monarcas de Morelia Youth Academy.
With the addition of Merancio, FC Tucson’s roster now stands at 16 players for the 2019 USL League One season.
