FC Tucson continues its road campaign this Saturday with a showdown against conference foe Greenville Triumph SC at Legacy Early College in Greenville, SC. Tucson enters the match following a 2-2 draw versus Lansing Ignite FC at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Mich.
Last Saturday, Tucson fought back from two early deficits to earn a tough point in Lansing. An early penalty kick resulted in a 1-0 lead for the home side in the 26th minute. Moments later, Phoenix Rising FC loanee midfielder Ramone Howell netted the equalizer following a solo run down the middle of the field to surpass the Lansing backline.
The home side found the back of the net in the closing minutes of the first half to extend the lead to 2-1 at the break.
In the 50thminute, Tucson was awarded a chance from the spot following a handball foul against Lansing inside of the box.
Forward Jordan Jones delivered on the opportunity to give the Men in Black its second equalizer of the match and his third goal of the season.
Greenville Triumph SC enters the match following a 1-0 victory over Orlando City B on July 13th. The club is currently sixth in the table with 20 points.
This will serve as the first regular-season match between the two sides.
