An 81st minute goal by Jacob Crull helped FC Tucson salvage a 1-1 draw with Forward Madison and pick up its first USL League One point of the season Saturday night at Kino North Stadium.
Forward Madison took the lead in the 54th minute on a long shot by Christian Enriquez that surprised the FC Tucson defense that skipped past the right hand of keeper Carlos Merancio.
Forward Madison was forced to play a man down for the final 27 minutes after Cyrus Rad was shown a second yellow and then a red for a foul.
Tucson took advantage quickly and battered the Forward Madison defense after the expulsion. Forward Madison had six of the match’s nine yellows.
Among a cluster of Men In Black and Flamingoes in the box, Crull, a left back, latched on to the ball after a Louis Perez corner from the left side went sailing to the far post and then bounced around inside the 6-yard box.
