TUCSON (April 16, 2019) — FC Tucson forward Jamael Cox and defender Kody Wakasa was named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 3 of the 2019 USL League One season the league announced today.
On Saturday evening, Cox netted the opening goal of the night during the 73’ minute of play. The skilled forward also registered 14 of 18 passes and made four recoveries.
Wakasa anchored the backline during Saturday’s contest against Toronto FC II. He recorded a team-high seven clearances, while managing to win 5 of 7 duels. Wakasa also completed 63 of 74 passes, registering an 85% success rate.
FC Tucson will be back in action on Friday, April 26th when they host South Georgia Tormenta FC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 P.M. The match will be televised via ESPN+.
